THE OPPORTUNITY

NHS North East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) serves one of the most diverse populations in the country. We work with partners across health, care and local government to improve outcomes and tackle health inequalities.

As the NHS responds to national reform and the ambitions of the Government’s 10 Year Health Plan, we are evolving our role as a strategic commissioner, shaping high-quality, sustainable services for our communities.

We are seeking an exceptional Chief Strategy Officer to join our Executive Team. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will lead system-wide strategy, ensuring commissioning decisions and long-term plans are informed by high-quality data, evidence, insight and the voices of our communities.

You will lead strategic planning, population health intelligence, forecasting and modelling, alongside strategic commissioning of planned care and specialised services. You will also provide strategic leadership across key infrastructure priorities, including digital and estates.

Success will require strong partnership working across NHS providers, local authorities, communities and wider partners, bringing people together around a shared vision for North East London.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an established and credible senior leader with significant experience of developing and delivering strategy within a complex health, care or comparable system environment.

You will bring Board-level or very senior leadership experience, with a strong track record of influencing across organisational boundaries and translating ambitious strategy into tangible improvements. You will understand strategic planning and commissioning and be confident using evidence, data and insight to inform complex decisions. Experience of planned care, population health, resource allocation and transformational change will be particularly relevant.

You will be an inclusive, collaborative and compassionate leader, able to create a compelling strategic vision, build trusted relationships and bring partners and communities with you. You will share our commitment to improving population health, reducing inequalities and ensuring local people help shape the future of health and care across North East London.

We welcome applications from candidates from underrepresented groups and from those who can bring different perspectives and experiences to our leadership team, and who share our ambition to create a healthier, more equitable North East London.
