We have an exciting opportunity to join our Trust as Chief Nurse. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and high-calibre individual to strategically lead and champion our nursing, midwifery and therapy workforce. Our Trusts first formed a strategic partnership in 2019 and in 2023 we deepened this partnership further, appointing a single Chief Executive and single Executive team. We have big ambition, and by working in partnership we can continue to provide high quality clinical outcomes and deliver outstanding patient experience to those we serve.

The Chief Nurse post is a key member of our Trust Board, providing clinical and strategic leadership in the development of nursing, midwifery and allied health professional standards.  They will provide strong, visible and professional leadership and ensure that patient safety and the delivery of high-quality care remain central to our strategic direction and decision-making. They will be expected to work as part of an integrated team and take lead responsibility for strategic and corporate issues both within and external to their immediate portfolio, making a major contribution to the achievements of the Trust vision and strategic goals.

Our Chief Nurse will be pivotal in strategically leading the nursing, midwifery and therapy agenda across the Island and with PHU. They will bring experience at a very senior level and have an ability to articulate our vision, mission, values, and the underpinning behaviours needed for the Trust to help us deliver our shared ambitions.

We are looking to speak with candidates who have significant and recent experience at executive level in a large complex organisation or system. A highly visible and politically astute leader, you will have a demonstrable track record of improving quality and safety, leading and developing clinical strategy as well as the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships. Importantly too, you will share our values and passion for the highest quality clinical care.

We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all. We believe that the best organisations are those that reflect the communities they serve. We want to increase the diversity of our NHS leadership and particularly encourage applications from candidates from the BAME, women, LGBTQ+ communities, and from people with lived experience of disability.
