Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) is an integrated provider of acute hospital and community services and we proudly provide care to over half a million patients every year in our hospitals, community settings and in people’s own homes. Our patients are at the heart of everything that we do – providing safe and compassionate care, every time – and our estate is a key enabler to deliver truly transformational services. Our estate must enable us to provide integrated care with greater guarantees of infection prevention and control and financial sustainability by reducing the inefficiencies of an aged estate and tackling our backlog maintenance. Ultimately, our estate is fundamental in creating a healthy, safe, and effective environment for all who use it.
Our Director of Estates will provide leadership and role modelling, in particular encouraging and enabling an integrated team; will implement a customer service ethos across BHT; maintain the financial plan to budget and implement cost improvement schemes from the divisional budget portfolio; and ensure the development & adoption of the estates and facilities management procedures and systems in a manner that supports the Trust’s corporate strategy, trust values and NHS good practice guidance.
We are seeking an ambitious and emotionally-intelligent Director of Estates to play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering spaces and services to achieve our strategic objectives. We are keen to bring in someone who consistently demonstrates a commitment to providing exceptional non-clinical services. You will be able to make effective and efficient use of sustainable resources to support our vision, whilst championing a safe working environment. How you lead the team and bring along with you on the journey will be equally important to us and new colleagues will need to demonstrate a clear commitment to our values and our purpose.
We are committed to ensuring that BHT embraces and celebrates diversity as we strive to tackle inequalities both within the workforce and in our local communities. In recruiting to our Trust, we are committed to equality of opportunity for all, and we both encourage and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
