At The Children’s Trust, we are the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury and neurodisability. From our home in Tadworth, Surrey, we provide specialist rehabilitation, education, therapy, community, and residential services. These support children and young people with some of the most complex healthcare needs in the country, helping each of them reach the best possible quality of life and the greatest independence they can.

We’re now looking for a Medical Trustee to join our Board and help shape the future of our specialist services. You’ll bring strategic clinical insight to Board discussions on quality and safety, clinical governance, service development, workforce standards, risk, and regulatory compliance. You’ll work alongside fellow Trustees and our senior leadership team, offering support and constructive challenge in equal measure. Above all, you’ll help make sure children and families stay at the heart of every decision we make.

You’ll be a registered medical practitioner with senior-level experience, perhaps in paediatrics, rehabilitation medicine, neurology, neurodisability, intensive care, complex care, or a related specialty. Previous Board experience isn’t essential. What matters most is a strong grasp of clinical governance and patient safety, the confidence to think strategically and independently, and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people. In return, you’ll gain valuable governance experience with an organisation renowned for clinical excellence and innovation.

We believe the best Boards reflect the people they serve. We warmly welcome applications from people of all backgrounds including minority groups. We’re happy to make any adjustments you need throughout the process.
