L&D Project Manager

Having recently appointed a Head of Capability & Development to lead the team, we are looking for ambitious individuals to help drive us forward in achieving our goals. Our first hire to the Talent Team is an L&D Project Manager responsible for two core areas of the Talent function. This is a newly created position, and one that we feel is unique in the industry – an example of just one of the ways we like to do things differently.

Role Objective:

As a Talent & Capability Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a variety of projects in line with our overall Talent & Development strategy. You will be Project Lead on two key areas: New Starter Onboarding, Induction & Training as well as Engagement, Performance Management & Retention, whilst taking an agile approach to the Talent Team’s wider projects and supporting any changing business priorities.

Some of your key accountabilities will include;

Project Lead – New Starter Onboarding, Induction & Training

  • Developing a best-in-class pre-boarding and on-boarding process, whilst ensuring its suitability, and tailoring, for every part of the business, inclusive of our global offices & consultancy offerings.
  • Being hands on in the delivery of both in-person and virtual onboarding and induction sessions to new joiners at all levels, ensuring Hunter’s values, mission and vision are communicated clearly.
  • Providing induction training of the “Hunter Way” as well as delivering system training to ensure standards are met and our tech is utilised fully.

Project Lead – Engagement, Performance Management & Retention

  • Through analysis of our current retention and attrition statistics you will develop and take full ownership of a strategy that ensures we meet our objective of employing a diverse and highly engaged workforce with market leading retention rates.
  • Designing a performance management process and subsequently implementing this with the wider business through training and coaching sessions to support managers with the delivery of such conversations.
  • Leading & analysing our annual (or perhaps more regular) engagement surveys, you will be responsible for driving consistency through the survey questions whilst including any topical question themes as they arise and may require analysis and action (i.e. any new initiatives or ideas).

Wider L&D Project Support

  • Being fluid to changing business requirements and supporting on a reactive basis to changing priorities across the other project areas of the People Team (Attraction & Hiring and Training & Development) – inclusive of, but not limited to, research and written based tasks as well as hands-on, delivery of training sessions and hiring activities.
  • Supporting the roll out and delivery of Hunter’s trainee & graduate programme, ensuring a hugely successful launch this calendar year.

Tech Stack Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Working alongside the Talent Team to build, adopt and drive best practice and usage of systems including Bullhorn, Bamboo and our internal LMS.
  • Consistently looking for ways to continually improve your two project areas by seeking feedback on the process from colleagues at all levels.

Experience & capabilities required;

To be considered for this unique opportunity as an L&D Project Manager you will have experience in a learning and development capacity within the recruitment industry, or within the consultancy space. You will have worked in roles that required hands-on delivery of onboarding and training as well as taking a strategic approach to crafting & launching new policies, processes and people-based initiatives.
