Associate Director Overview

As an Associate Director in our Al advisory team, you will play a key role in delivering high-impact solutions for our healthcare clients. You’ll lead the day-to-day delivery of projects, working closely with clients to improve efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare services. With a strong focus on outcomes, you’ll guide multidisciplinary teams across strategy, readiness, technical and deployment phases, ensuring seamless execution. You will also contribute to building trusted client relationships, spotting opportunities for further value and spotting the growth of our practise through your subject matter expertise and delivery excellence.


Key Accountabilities

Growth & Client Relationship Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor, building and sustaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across healthcare and internal Hunter teams to drive the growth of the Al Advisory Practice and Hunter’s wider business.

  • Collaborate with Directors and Partners to identify new business opportunities, with a focus on upselling and cross-selling, ensuring alignment with Hunter’s strategic goals and expanding service offerings to both existing and potential clients.

  • Partner with senior client stakeholders to develop compelling, tailored proposals for new business opportunities, leveraging market insights to meet client needs and position Hunter to be their partner of choice.

  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships within digital healthcare partners and other industry stakeholders, staying ahead of Al trends and positioning Hunter at the forefront of the sector.

  • Support Directors and Partners to develop and deliver thought leadership activity and networking events to position Hunter as an industry leader in Al advisory.

Expert Service Delivery

  • Provide strategic oversight on complex Al projects, ensuring successful, timely delivery across multiple healthcare settings, whilst maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.

  • Develop and implement repeatable processes, frameworks, and tools that deliver lasting value to both clients and Hunter’s Al advisory team, ensuring scalability and adaptability in the evolving Al landscape.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to design innovative solutions leveraging cutting-edge Al technologies to optimise operational efficiency and enhance patient outcomes for healthcare clients. Support the Directors and Partners in establishing governance structures, providing technical oversight, and ensuring service and financial reporting aligns with best practices.

Leadership & Management

  • Provide mentorship and coaching, ensuring a pipeline of future leaders withing the practice and managing resource allocation effectively to meet client demands and develop high performing teams.

  • Support professional development, facilitating team growth through PDPs, performance management and coaching to drive high performance.

  • Provide project leadership, managing complex initiatives within a matrix structure, including leading cross-functional client teams to collaboration and ensure seamless delivery.

  • Create a culture of knowledge -sharing and collaboration by actively participating in internal development sessions and industry events.


Person Specification

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Al Strategy or Management consulting in healthcare, including supporting growth of consulting services. Experience working directly on client side is desirable but not essential.

  • A proven track record of delivering strategic Al projects in healthcare.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex ideas clearly and creatively to various stakeholders.

  • Strong relationship development capability, creating a credible, positive impression on clients and colleagues alike.

  • Skilled in influencing and negotiating, maintaining positive relationships in challenging situations.

  • Demonstrable teamwork, leadership and ambition, driving results and improving outcomes.

  • Strong analytical and entrepreneurial skills, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions.

  • Able to work at pace, influencing and challenging decisions when necessary.

  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all written work.

  • Proactive and adaptable, willing to take on unfamiliar tasks.

  • Degree-qualified (2.1 or above preferred) in any discipline.

  • Willingness to travel to support client work and team collaboration as needed, including travel to client site to support delivery and to Hunter’s offices for Consulting Team Days, Town halls and other corporate events.
