Chief Executive Officer – Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a major provider of integrated healthcare services, with a workforce of over 11,300 who are dedicated to helping people live healthier, more fulfilling lives. We deliver a broad portfolio of mental health, intellectual disability, community, forensic and offender health services. Our care is person-centred and delivered where it is needed most – from secure hospitals to community hubs, GP surgeries and people’s homes.

Following the planned retirement of Ifti Majid, we are seeking an exceptional leader to become our next Chief Executive. The successful candidate will shape the Trust’s future direction, accelerate improvement and embody our values of Trust, Honesty, Respect, Compassion and Teamwork, nurturing a culture in which colleagues feel heard, supported and empowered to deliver outstanding, person-centred care.

As the Trust’s Accountable Officer, the Chief Executive will hold overall responsibility for the quality, safety and performance of our services, ensuring we meet all statutory, regulatory and governance requirements. They will be responsible for shaping and delivering the organisational strategy, ensuring it reflects current national and local policy as well as the health priorities of the populations we serve. Working closely with the Chair and the Board, they will secure strong financial performance and operational resilience, while providing influential system leadership at local, regional and national levels.

We are looking for a high-calibre individual with experience that includes:

• A strong record of building effective partnerships and influencing across complex systems

• Visible, values-led and inspirational leadership

• Having delivered challenging financial efficiencies while maintaining high-quality patient care

• Proven capability in leading an organisation through regulatory scrutiny, a public inquiry, major review or comparable high-stakes improvement

Previous CEO experience in a healthcare setting and Board-level experience within Mental Health or Community services, would be advantageous.
