As part of the government’s New Hospital Programme, Frimley is set to benefit from this once-in-a-generation programme to fundamentally build and transform a new state of the art Frimley Park Hospital and ensure we continue to provide care in a safe, reliable, and modern environment. By modernising our estate, the programme will support local healthcare in the future for the community, and improve healthcare quality for our population, creating a more sustainable healthcare environment. We are now seeking a Commercial Director who shares our ambition.
As the Commercial Director you will be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of commercial services and play a pivotal role in leading the financial, legal and procurement elements of the New Hospital Programme. You will oversee financial planning and budget management for the New Hospital Programme, ensuring cost efficiency and alignment with project goals. Leading a team of demand and capacity modelling experts, you will also support the development of key business cases and provide strategic, financial and commercial insights to leadership. You will manage legal advisors, mitigate commercial risks, establish governance, and build strong stakeholder relationships to facilitate collaboration. Additionally, you will shape and lead a commercial strategy, setting KPIs, managing contracts with third-party vendors, and driving procurement aligned with environmental and sustainability goals. You will also be responsible for senior staff management to foster an inclusive culture, oversee performance, and promote efficient, value-driven operations while deputising for the Programme Director when required.
This is an incredible opportunity to be involved in and support the progression of the NHP at Frimley. Ideally you will hold certifications in procurement and project management, bringing substantial commercial leadership experience in construction or healthcare, particularly in managing complex public-sector programs, contracts, and transactions. You will also demonstrate strong technical knowledge in procurement, regulatory standards, contract management, and business case development as this is essential, alongside excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous professional development.
