Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS FT (HIOW Healthcare) is a new NHS Trust, bringing together community, mental health and learning disability services, aiming to improve consistency of care between these services and the organisations responsible. Over the past 18 months, we’ve worked hard to align our mental health, community and learning disability services across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to improve access to care, reduce duplication and resolve unnecessary differences in practice and outcomes.
We have an extremely exciting opportunity to join our Trust as Deputy COO – Primary Care, Communities and Physical Health. Our future Deputy COO will be a very experienced senior manager, with a high level of personal resilience and strong leadership skills amassed in leading large, complex and diverse service portfolios at sub-board level across a range of organisational settings. The postholder will be expected to act independently, and able to evidence taking timely and at times, significant decisions to ensure operational delivery, driving change and improvement, through supporting, influencing and directing.
The Deputy COO – Primary Care, Communities and Physical Health will develop and strengthen collaboration within primary care and our system partners to maximise seamless and easily navigable pathways at place. They will take the lead on improvement work programmes working with internal and external stakeholders as well as leading on the implementation and interpretation of National and Regional directives.
We are looking to speak with experienced, compassionate and driven leaders who want to join us on our journey. This is an exciting time to be working with us and as our Deputy COO you will contribute to the delivery of the Trust’s strategic plan, work in partnership with the Divisional teams and external organisations and others to help us achieve our objectives.
You will support our Chief Operating Officer in their role, and will have delegated authority through the COOs office, providing significant leadership across the Trust, working closely with the Divisional teams to ensure the safe and effective day to day operations of the organisation, as well as supporting tactical planning on wider operational and process improvements.
We value and promote diversity and are committed to equality of opportunity for all. We believe that the best organisations are those that reflect the communities they serve. We want to increase the diversity of our NHS leadership and particularly encourage applications from candidates from the global majority, women, LGBTQ+ communities, and from people with lived experience of disability.
