We are looking for an exceptional Group Director of Estates and Facilities to help shape the future of two ambitious NHS organisations working together to deliver outstanding and sustainable care for their communities.

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust and Isle of Wight NHS Trust are a newly established NHS Group, encompassing one of the largest acute hospitals in the country and a unique healthcare provider. This formal collaboration is designed to combine strengths, share expertise and improve services, while maintaining local leadership and identity. We are driving toward a shared vision for modern and sustainable healthcare, ensuring every environment supports innovation, quality and the wellbeing of patients and staff. We’re now looking for a Group Director of Estates who shares our ambition.

As Group Director of Estates and Facilities, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across both organisations, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient and high-performing estates and facilities services. This role offers the chance to lead the development of the new Group Estates Strategy, setting the course for the next five years.

You will lead the continued modernisation of the estate, embedding sustainability and resilience, and play a pivotal role in shaping a single, integrated estates model that supports high-quality care and clinical transformation. This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact by building environments that truly enable excellence in care.

We are seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking estates leader with a proven track record of managing large, complex estates portfolios, ideally within the NHS or wider public sector. You will possess the strategic vision and confidence to lead through collaboration, influence across all levels and inspire teams to deliver meaningful change. Above all, you will hold a commitment to safe, sustainable and patient-centred environments that support the future of healthcare delivery.

We are committed to ensuring our organisations embrace and celebrate diversity, and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
