North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) provides high-quality mental health care to communities across the London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington. Serving a population of 1.7 million people in North Central London (NCL), the Trust also delivers a broad range of community-based and inpatient mental health services, alongside specialist services supporting people across London, neighbouring counties and nationally.

Our ambition is to be a leading NHS mental health provider, offering consistently excellent and equitable care across one of the most diverse areas in the country. The communities we serve reflect a rich mix of cultures, backgrounds and lived experiences, and we are committed to ensuring our services respond effectively to their needs, preferences, and challenges.

At a pivotal point in our development, the Trust is now seeking to appoint two new Board members who will provide independent oversight, robust challenge, and strategic insight. These roles will support the Trust’s long-term financial sustainability, while also helping to shape and deliver change, improvement, and system-wide transformation.

Non-Executive Director – Finance

You will bring previous Non-Executive Director experience gained within a large, complex organisation, alongside a strong understanding of NHS or public sector finance. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of supporting effective governance, financial resilience, and long-term sustainability.

Associate Non-Executive Director – Transformation

You will bring significant large-scale corporate transformation experience, gained in either the public or private sector. The successful candidate will have experience of supporting and challenging organisations delivering large scale, complex change, and continuous improvement.

Both roles require individuals who demonstrate experience of working with financially challenged organisations, strong partnership skills, a proven ability to support and challenge transformation, and who model inclusive, compassionate, and values-driven leadership. Working closely with the Board and Executive Team, you will help ensure the Trust continues to deliver high-quality mental health care for the communities it serves.

We are committed to building a diverse Board that reflects our population and warmly welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, particularly those with strong local or London connections.
