From April 2026, Central East Integrated Care Board will become one of the largest systems in England, bringing together services across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, Bedfordshire, Luton & Milton Keynes, and Hertfordshire, with responsibility for improving health outcomes for 3.5 million residents and overseeing an £8.5bn annual budget. The ICB is now seeking a Non-Executive Member to chair its Audit & Risk Committee.
This is a high-impact governance role, offering the opportunity to shape a newly established organisation at scale, providing independent challenge and assurance. As Non-Executive Member, you will share collective accountability for the ICB’s statutory duties. In addition, you will chair the Audit & Risk Committee, leading oversight of financial reporting, risk management, internal controls and assurance arrangements, and acting as Conflicts of Interest Guardian. You will bring clarity, rigour and sound judgement, supporting a culture of transparency, integrity and effective decision-making.
We are seeking a senior leader with recent, relevant financial expertise gained in a large, complex organisation. Ideally CCAB qualified, significant board-level or equivalent experience, strong knowledge of audit, risk and assurance frameworks is key. Candidates must be resident within the Central East catchment. This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of health and care across a major NHS system, working with an ambitious Board during a defining period of change and transformation.
